30/10/2013
The 2013 Cadillac ATS – the brand’s entry into the world’s most significant luxury car segment – was named the Best Executive Sedan at the Middle East Motor Awards 2013, which took place on October 29 at Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront.

The pioneering vehicle was nominated in the Best Executive Sedan category based on a host of qualification requirements – ranging from driver satisfaction to design, handling, safety features, emotional appeal, value for money, comfort level, performance and technical innovation.

In effect, the 2013 Cadillac ATS was selected by a highly acclaimed judging panel – featuring the Middle East’s top automotive journalists – following a comprehensive seven-month assessment period.

“We are incredibly proud to have received such stellar recognition at the Middle East Motor Awards 2013 – an annual event which brings together the automotive industry’s leading players,” said Maurice Williams, President and Managing Director of General Motors. “We would like to thank the judging panel for recognizing the Cadillac ATS’ ability to challenge the world’s best compact luxury cars. This accolade is, without a doubt, further testament to the vehicle’s incredible roster of revolutionary features.” Indeed, the 2013 ATS boasts a sophisticated driving experience, enhanced with Cadillac CUE – a comprehensive, in-vehicle user experience that merges intuitive design with industry-first controls and commands for information and media data.

Developed on an all-new, lightweight rear-drive architecture, the ATS reflects a new expression of Cadillac’s Art & Science execution philosophy, centered on a foundation of driving dynamics and mass efficiency.

It is the most agile and lightweight Cadillac, with one of the lowest curb weights in the segment – 1,504 kg on the 2.5L I4.

The Cadillac ATS is 2013 North American Car of the Year, Esquire Car of the Year, Popular Mechanics’s Automotive Excellence Award, and the Motor Press Guild’s Car of the Year.
