BEIRUT, LEBANON, February 7, 2012 — IMPEX, Lebanon’s exclusive Chevrolet dealer celebrated the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet by giving thousands of dollars to three of Lebanon’s cancer-fighting charities. In recognition of the esteemed automobile manufacturer’s 100th birthday—on November 3, 2001—IMPEX designed a program with a responsible cause: for every Chevrolet purchased over a 100-day period, IMPEX would donate $100 to the fight against children’s cancer.
The charitable gift was divided among three organizations: the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), CHANCE Association (Children AgaiNst CancEr) and Kids First Association.
Mrs. Hana Choueib, General Manager of CCCL, said, “Our gratitude to the people at IMPEX to help in our fight is profound. We are thankful that children’s health has found another friend in IMPEX.”
IMPEX was happy to draw the longstanding appreciation of Chevrolet’s brand integrity and pursuit of excellence to a social cause of deep and lasting impact. IMPEX has always been inspired by the quality of the Chevrolet product, and to turn that admiration toward the eradication of a fearsome disease was a doubled reward. “Companies like IMPEX are made of caring people, and caring people can make a difference. We salute their participation in this important project. Thanks for giving these children a CHANCE” said Dr. Roula Farah-Sayad, President of CHANCE association.
Birthday parties often produce lots of gifts and fun, but their memories can quickly fade away. Chevrolet’s 100th birthday isn’t likely to be forgotten by IMPEX, nor by the children helped by this heartfelt program. Me. Paul Noun, President of Kids First Association, said it well: “It is so painful to witness the suffering of children. But the charitable giving of companies like IMPEX help to relieve our pain, and more importantly, that of the children. Thank you.”
