If you tuned into ESPN2 yesterday afternoon, you would have witnessed Corvette Racing competing in American Le Mans Series action at Lime Rock Motorsports Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. And while victory eluded the team, drivers Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen kept things clean and tidy to take second place in the GT-class with the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R. The result vaulted Garcia and Magnussen from fifth in the ALMS’ GT driver’s championship into a provisional three-way tie for second in points.
Meanwhile, drivers Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin finished sixth in the No. 4 car, which saw its fair share of contact during the race, which proved to be incredibly frustrating for the defending ALMS GT champions, who now stand third in the provisional standings. Corvette Racing is tied for first in the team standings, and Chevrolet continues to lead the manufacturer’s championship.
The team travels to Mosport for their next race, which begins July 21 at noon.
