A jury of leading car journalists from 15 Central and Eastern European countries, has named the Chevrolet MyLink connected radio as the winner of its SMARTBEST 2013 award. The organization described the system as an “innovative, simple and very affordable technology”. The SMARTBEST award was introduced last year.
Chevrolet MyLink technology aggregates content from smartphones onto a high-resolution, full-color touch-screen display and provides easy access to phone books, personal playlists, photo galleries and/or videos, and other stored media and data. Also, a selection of special apps are embedded in the Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze, such as Siri, an intelligent assistant, and TuneIn, a streaming audio powerhouse.
Compatible devices can be connected via USB or Bluetooth. There is also a dedicated plug-in outlet for certain personal music devices that do not use USB or Bluetooth connections.
“Thanks to this innovative, simple and very affordable technology, all passengers are able to enjoy their favorite music or news programs, and speak to friends or family while driving,” declared Ilia Seliktar, AUTOBEST jury president. “Chevrolet MyLink brings through a smartphone all infotainment facilities into the car, from the navigation system to your favorite radio station,” Seliktar added.
Chevrolet MyLink is available on all 2014 Chevrolet vehicles with the exception of Aveo, Captiva and Colorado.
